Ummm, why can't you have cool animated avatars - a few people have animated gifs for avatars - is it size or what? Because all of that can be configured....

Personally, I think the size limit is fine. Not everyone has superfast internet connections, and who wants to wait 5 minutes for a page to load because of 40 huge gifs being cached?

Forums are about the text, not the pictures. Well, apart from screenies. And smileys. And signatures.

They dont have to be huge. The one at the top of the page is obviously too big, but 200 - 300K gifs would be cool.
