It's official...

Pittsburg Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals in sunny Tampa, FL

My dad, being from Pittsburg, has them winning (gee, wonder why), but I think the Cardinals certainly have a case to make themselves, especially since their defense has come out of nowhere and Kurt Warner seems almost regenerated. Of course, defense wins championships, and I do think that Pitt has them beat in that department (especially if you just saw the AFC Championship Game like me - golly hope McGahee's okay).

I say the Steelers hold Arizona's offense back and win 27 - 17.

What do you guys think? Like the matchup? Surprised that Arizona's suddenly risen as a great team? I am. Hehe.

I hate the Steelers so much...almost as much as the Ravens. I am 100% rooting for the Cardinals...because they are like the biggest underdog ever. Seriously, who thought the Cardinals were giong to make the Super Bowl? And if they win? that would be epic. :)

Rooting for the Cardinals is like rooting for lamppost design (http://www.forgotten-ny.com/LAMPS/STREETLAMPS%20HOMEPAGE/lamphome.html). Yea, theres people who have an opinion but they are few, far between and weird besides. Having said that, given the two choices, I actually like the Steelers team but hate Steelers fans (they fit in with every other old school team in the "we are entitled to be assholes" category"). So um, Im strangely a fan of the corvingtons...and the cardinals in this one (though they havent faced a D remotely similar to the steelers...but then the steelers O aint all that..and godboy and his wife bob are motivated by puppies (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/090116&sportCat=nfl) (search for the Biff Tannen award)). I'm staying away from from money picks till next week but my heart flutters for those desert cards..erg (come on, my falcons are nevermore).

I am a Vikings fan, yeah...yeah...never won a super bowl I get it, at least the Vikings were not like the Lions this year. It'll be tough to decide between Steelers & Cardinals. The Cardinals really surprised me this year...

Odds

Cardinals:51%
Steelers: 49%

Meh really close.

For me, the Cardinals are definitely the better story (never been to a Super Bowl, first AFC Championship in 60 years, yadda, yadda), but the Steelers are just the better team. Sure Ben doesn't have the weapons that Warner has but Ben I think is less prone to slip up.

Both QB's have been to the big game before and in the offensive sense I think the slight edge goes to the Cards, but their defense, as I mentioned earlier, just doesn't stack up to Pitt's D. After all, they forced 4 turnovers against the Ravens (who I was rooting for after the Bucs' horrific collapse, but am still understandable that the Steelers won), and the Ravens could only force one TO on Pitt after forcing 4 against Tennessee.

The NFC just naturally seems to be the weaker conference and the Cards just haven't beaten the same caliber of teams that Pittsburg (and the AFC in general) has.

I am rooting for a good game, though. Just one where the Steeers end up winning. That way my dad won't be moping around the house for a few days.

Well as I live in Arizona, who do you think I'm going for?
Cards baby. Steelers been to the Super Bowl too much, time to see a new team get the win.

i was born and raised (and still live) in philadelphia - i was even born into Eagles season tickets. I have thrown snowballs at santa, and boo'd Bill Cosby. Come'ahn - how cool is it that we are the only stadum with a built in court house

so, naturally i want to see Arizona lose since they knocked us out.

Go FLYERS

Lifetime Cleveland Browns backer. I hate the Steelers more than any team. Arizona is the NFC version of my lovable losers. I hope they stomp Pittsburghs ass! Could be the biggest Cinderella story in recent memory of the Cards can pull this off. :41:

I'll be watching this on the BBC - the beauty of being a musician is that you get to watch this into the wee small hours without having to get up on Monday morning.

My sister lives near Phoenix, so I'll go for Arizona on this one.

The simple fact of steelers vs cardinals is that it wont be memorable even if its an outstanding game. Neither team is very memorable outside of the last 3 weeks. It wont be the underdog vs the the dynasty (Giants vs Pats..astounding game), it wont be underdogs vs the high flying all stars (pats vs rams) and the best it can hope for is a dramatic finish (rams vs titans) and there you have the finest three superbowls of the past decade.

We shall have a shindig and there will be good food and beer and a plethora of babies that people will be trying to get to sleep(a relatively new occurence) and the ads will suck (recession) but I do love me some nfl above all others so I await the day. The only real fun I have right now is imagining Leinart (hollywood backup qb boy) inviting Warner (god boy grocery stocker) and his wife/bff (and you decide what bf stands for) into the hottub with paris hilton in tow. Comon. Its fun to imagin paris scared...
