Twas on this day in July 2008 that sweet, dear, loveable, innocuous riott was given a lifetime ban.

OK, now that you've gagged, here's the idea.

I just PM'd Sam reminding him of his embarrassing; toys out the pram; juvenile; pissy; ban post.

I'd like to think others would follow my lead.

Good idea Norrie.... I'm just trying to think of a way to phrase such a pm in a relatively civil way without using the word "please" - because I won't say that. Ever. Again. To Sam.

Here's one person who has lost all respect I might still have had for him.....:hammer:

I've not PMed Sam but I did start a new vigil over on TMO, called "Riott007: 1 month down 1823 to go!":

Did it a week or so ago. but I kissed his ass. (careful not to use :001_tt2:) :w00t:

Copy of said pm sent upon request. (I played to his ego) btw I'll only kiss my wife's ass.:001_icon16:

I just can't ... all I can think of is demanding that the ban be lifted, because it was childish... and everything I tried to compose sounded mildly condescending. (I'm sure that would sit very well with him) I'll try again tomorrow... :001_unsure:

I would never suggest anyone do something against their principles. I'm lucky in that I don't have a past with many of those people. Playing to his ego shows his flaw, not mine.

You have class Sisch, Sam would be a fool not to see that.
He doesn't know me from Adam.

I do believe though that offering him an excuse to keep the ban, because of his ego, is as foolish as he was to imposes it in the first place.

Naw, just the whole Sam this and that, the ban this and that. It's pretty clear Sam doesnt care nor Woody or anyone else at LH

Even Stevie Wonder can see that we all wanted you unbanned, but they dont care what any of us thought/think.

So now we have this nifty new place where they have no say and we can keep our community thriving

Figuring out what to say in a PM would be difficult... These are the people who posted "our technicians are still working on it trying to recover the pieces!" as the first official response to the crash. That was it. Then they followed it up by saying it'd likely take month to fix. Not much of an assurance that they were taking it seriously. Roger has mentioned on the air that their official communication typically comes from the top. If their entire organization is that pathetic at communicating to their customers, what can we possibly say to change their minds when Sam spazzed out at a little dissension?

The whole thing is kind of comical. Pathetic communication leads to speculation leads to lifetime ban leads to a "defense team" defending the indefensible.

I think its disgusting how Riott has been treated, not because I have any great friendship with her, but more the great sense of inequality i have felt since this. In my time on TMO I really have seen it all, but I think a lifetime ban is ridiculous... especially when you consider the moderator (sam) is employed by Lionhead.

You would think merely from a financial standpoint they wouldnt want a groundswell of digruntled users prior to the release of a major game, but moreso you'd hope Lionhead found this inequality distasteful itslef and madeit right.

Good members of forums shouldnt have to be subjected to treatment from those who are meant to oversee and 'moderate' the very forums themselves.

seems that despite small numbers on tmo forum they still have plenty of room for lots of irony

Yep, and look what has become of the thread.... all the usual suspects chiming in again, some even saying the OP can have rules all he want, I post what I want regardless!
Someone should try that in their precious OT....

Nah, I'm sorry Riott, I won't write that pm - I'm too fed up with the place, and there's nothing anyone could want to go back to anyway. I'm done with it.

No worries Sisch even if I'm unbanned I would not go back there nor am I buying anymore of their shitty games. Not that a lifetime ban would stop me from posting anyway. Just takes a few minutes for me to re-register but I can't be bothered. I prefer it over here anyway.

I know y'all mean well with the threads trying to get me unbanned and I appreciate the thoughts but maybe its time to stop.

Those threads are only making sam and woody look like assholes:asshole:...and they are really super nice people that deserve our respect!!:

Ok double post...but had to make a correction and an addition

I re-registered over at TMO just to point out to ShyShy that midget sex is wonderful. I think y'all can forgive me for that.

I forgive your post on TMO...but this double posting is absolutely unforgivable! Don't you know Netiquette?!? Don't you know your forum forefathers gave their very lives to ensure that we need never see two posts in a row from the same person?!?

I think our Good Doggy Member Norrie is going to have to step in and teach you a lesson, Missy. If we allow double posts, the very fabric of this forum will collapse and there will be anarchy!

(btw, I have the post edit timer set to 60 minutes - title too :sneaky2: - but double post as you wish - I don't care.)

Whether riott is unbanned or not I think will make little difference at TMO anymore. The damage has already been done. So many people have lost respect for the way Lionhead run their forums.

They indeed have the right to run the forums any way they wish. They are welcome to stop people voicing their opinions there. But it doesn't make for a nice place to be.

It's like being given the choice between a free nation and a authoritarian state to live in. I may visit the authoritarian state, but I certainly don't wish to live there.

TMU is my online home, after all it is a nice place to be! :flowers:
