Okay...I'm in need of some music for a upcoming movie. I did find some music, however it is from freeplay and I can't use it. I looked around for some music, however nothing really has suited the movie. I come here to ask for some music, so if anyone can help me out. It would be greatly appreciated and I would be very thankful.
I am looking for three pieces.
1st. Description: Sad, slow tempo, Piano solo.
2nd. Description: Sad, slow tempo, Piano and strings.
3rd. Description: Happy, mysterious, allegro, strings.
I'm sorry if it is not in any detail.
-Thank You

If it's not too late for your project Ben, try this for your second track -

Thank you Stoke Studios, however TFoster is directing the film now. I want to thank you for taking the time, but I am sorry for the inconvience.

No worries BT, it wasn't any inconvenience.
If anyone else uses it, that's OK too.

I've been threatening Part two of the Ashley Porter Diamond Anniversary Special for far too long, and it's time to get cracking!
I have a couple oddball musical requirements that perhaps someone who's good with a synthesizer could help me out with:
1. A loud blaring car horn playing the first 14 notes of "Yellow Rose of Texas". Similar to the General Lee car horn (http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=VspsB1YV8eQ&feature=related) on the Dukes of Hazzard (though perhaps a little "brassier?")
2. A knockoff of the first bit (probably like 10-20 seconds worth) of "The Imperial March" - evoking it but not being it, if you know what I mean. I've got the notes in mind. There would be two versions of this: One, a big, blaring, uptempo version, similar to its first use in the movie. The second would be a slow, ominous version played on a cello, a la the "Luke, I am your father" scene.
I have a synthesizer that I keep meaning to get around to figuring out how to use, and have thought about trying this myself, but lack of these musical cues makes me procrastinate on finishing the script, and lack of a script makes me procrastinate on the musical cues, so if I can get one done, perhaps the logjam will break.... :)

Hey guys nice request thread. Well, Ive got a timely request. Im making my 1st EX-mas flick which cooincides with the TEAM X series, Id like a christmas song, original or classic ( no lyrics needed) This "background" song will BE the score, and should clock in at around 3-5 minutes. Id like it to basically start kinda mellow with some sleigh bells into a nice ROCKER! Ive looked elsewhere but would prefer a member of the community to do it. And needless to say, the days are falling until that wonderful friggin' day!

I'm wondering if any of our talented musicians would like to score my movie for the Child's Play charity. It's about 4 minutes long and I'm looking for music that will fit a soap opera parody. The music will need to be done by January 1st. Please PM me if you're interested. Thanks!

A suggestion for those that are requesting to hook up with a composer.
Send them the actual scenes. Let them see it and absorb it and generate their own creative spin from that. It involves your composer at a deeper level than saying "send me a mid-tempo tension thing".
Seeing is believing.
Nobody can truly "score" blind.
Works for me!

It works for everyone and makes the job easier! Often, when composers score blind, they have less of a chance to create something that fits the director's vision.

Yes.
It's near impossible for a director to get anything close to what they want if they don't send the film to the composer (we're talking about music that mirrors the onscreen action here - not background music where timing doesn't matter).
That's why music is the last thing to go onto a film usually - the movie will already be edited so the composer can get the music timed to perfection.
One notable exception was Stanley Kubrick - he would take an existing piece of music and edit the visuals to fit.
Music videos also work the other way around of course.
Sometimes, it's hard for a director to describe what sort of music they want - in such a case, recording the first 30 seconds of the music and checking with the director to see if you're on the right lines is a good idea.

Hey Everyone,
I need someone to score my movie. It is a War/Drama movie, so that might help you when reading the script. Something that you might not get is when the alarm goes off. I want a sort of soft rock music in the beginning, just to start of the movie. You'll see what I'll mean when you read the script. I hope someone can help out. Thank you in advance!

Hey guys. I need a score for my upcoming horror picture. Its about a man really entering the heart of darkness, and losing his mind, killing on another mans order.
I need a really slow, very eerie kind of score. I will send you the scenes if you wish to help so you can get an idea on what to do.

If I could get someone to make (or remake) an instrumental track of this song without the singer in it, I would be most grateful. I would be using it for a Vinni Pukh dub I would be posting to YouTube.

Here is a the original cartoon this came from BTW. If anyone knows where I can find music like the music in this film, I would also be grateful. As I said, it would be for background music on a film dub.

If you look at the documentary on the making of Star Wars, you can see John Williams in studio with a huge screen showing the movie so he could match everything to the visuals when recodring the final score.
