So... you've written a script.
You've put a lot of time and energy into it and the characters whose story you're telling... so now you need.... Voices!

As a director and scriptwriter, I feel one of the greatest joys of machinima making is listening to the voice actors bringing your characters to life. Even though you direct them, they always bring a personal spin to the role, which, in the ideal case, gives the character and the story even more depths.

This thread is for all those who would like to offer their voices to the community; to give a short description of their voice, their range, the characters they like to play, their preferred method to get into contact with them, and, if possible, to either upload a sample file or post a link to movies they've acted in.

Please don't post your requests in this thread!
And always remember - we all do this for fun, in our free time, so if you contact someone, be civil, give extensive details of your project - for most of us, that would be the full script plus character description and links to your previous movies - and react gracefully if you get a "No" - every voice actor has a right to choose her/his roles!

Voice Discription: I have a British voice. I haven't got a local accent, having been living all round England, so basically it's purely British - but not posh. There's also an element of deepness in my voice as well. I can try all sort of accents for instance cockney, American, Scottish. Don't ask me to do Austraila, I've been practising for years and I haven't made any improvement.
Preferred Role: I like ranging my roles. I have done alot of 'scum' roles in stage performances, so I am experienced. Gangsta' roles, I do

Voice Description:Varied. Despite that I'm 17, it's still a little on the teenage lilty-scale, but unlike when I started The Movies (age 14) it doesn't sound like it's been edited if you do fiddle with it. I can 'play' with my voice to an extent, but I can't do believeable accents. So I'm probably more suited to comedic voices.
Preferred Roles: Well I'm not exactly an established VA, so I'd probably pick anything right about now. Just don't expect "perfectly" clear results. :P

Voice Description:I have a range that goes from A to B - I usually get authoritarian roles (cops, soldiers, newsreaders), though I've done others with mixed success - see Marine's "Let's Kill The Sheriff (http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/147341)" , a film JazzX described as "well up its own TMO arse" - he also didn't like my dodgy Chinese accent, but clearly he never saw Bonanza and the Cartwright's Chinese cook, Hop Sing.
Preferred Roles: Being on the Voice Acting D list, I don't decline a lot of parts, since I assume that you've probably had many of turndowns before you finally said "Okay, I guess I could always ask Ken". On the other hand, if I'm too busy, I'll tell you no. I also need a firm deadline and the occasional cattle prod up the ol' kazoo to make sure I get you your lines on time. And I offer a "money back if not delighted guarantee"!

I can do most regional English accents as well as believable Irish and Welsh and an Australian if they are called for.

Preferred roles: I've played many different roles from B-movie aliens to police detectives to possessed people and almost anything you can think of :P
I'm happy to do almost any size role but quite like bigger, more developed parts.
Commedy, Horror, Romance... it's all good to me, I don't do a very believable American though so I'm afraid Westerns are out for me haha.
I love roles that challenge my voice and make me truly 'act' or put on a voice. Most of my roles so far have been my natural speaking voice.

Voice description: About as diverse as you'd like it, from the most deep, gritty and booming to the most high-pitched, timid and childish, and a lot in-between. I'm American accented but can do a somewhat convincing Russian/Eastern European accent (best for small roles only) and can do a perfectly believable "Southerner" voice (Aka, cowboy accent).

Preferred roles: Characters whose purposes and goals are somewhat a mystery, and who cannot be classed as "good" nor "bad" but rather somewhere in between. I don't mind playing leads or extras, but I generally find I'm better at playing supporting or secondary characters. It's a plus if the character is a mafia-type, and I'm far more willing to play the role if it's a developed one.

Prefered roles: I prefer comedies, horror and action but Im also very fond of dramatic/romantic roles. Im flexible so show me a good script and Im likely to sign on no matter the genre. I love to be the villian or anyone naaaasty but it really doesn't matter. Just tell me about the project and we take it from there. :)

Working habbits: Im always proffesional about what I do and I always seek to really deliver the goods. I take my time to get into the character and do everything I can to give a top notch performance. Im a dedicated guy who never walk out on a project once I've signed on. I don't mind working under direction but I find its greater to have free hands.

If you send me a script I will get to it as soon as I can, but I got a life too with a demanding education, chores and a job which could mean you'll have to wait a little. I will tell you when or if Im busy. If you're very impatient then I suggest you go for another guy.

VOICE: My more successful roles have been with a UK English or Scottish accent, but I'm always willing to try out new voices and accents

PREFERRED ROLES: If I like the character and/or the script I'll try anything.

WAY OF WORKING: I generally don't do auditions unless I know the film has a significant chance of being completed.

If I do jump in for an audition it will be because some background about the audition lines has been given, so "I need someone to play Admiral Gumbo - your audition line is 'I know Jack.'" just isn't good enough. I prefer to audition with a complete section of the script (or something else substantial).

I will correct any lines that don't sound right or don't fit the character as I go along - I'm also prone to improvising if I think it helps the script, but I'll usually always give a "safe" take as well which stays close to the given material.

Personal Preferences: I will very rarely swear in your movie and would prefer not to have to sing (although my voice isn't too bad). Shouting I'm fine with but not too loud. I usually take a while to do VOs due to limited computer access, e.g. 2-3 weeks. I like to see a full script so I can get to know the character but it's ok if I don't.
Accent/Pitch: I can do most accents pretty well and I can change my pitch from very high to moderately low (will probably get increasingly lower as I get older lol :laugh:)

Preffered Roles: I do not mind what my character is like, but I do insist that people tell me what my character is meant to be like. I do not want to be a one line character, I used to be but I have lost the umph for it. I have never been a murderer in the movies I have voice acted in, so if you want me as a killer I would be pretty intrested.
How to get me on board: I prefer Skype, soon I will only accept people if they ask me on Skype, since it is a simple way to get files to and fro. If you ask me to join you do not ask me for an audition! You can hear me on Fools of the Community, so I do not feel it is nessasery to do auditions!
How I do my lines: With a microphone obviously. :D I do my lines with feeling, I do not like it when I see scripts without instructions for VA's, eg. (Sad, Dramatical) If someone tells me they do not like my lines, I will keep on doing them until they are decent. If I feel I have done my lines very, very well but you disagree I might become a bit less inclinded to do lines, it has happened before. I usually do between 5 and 10 versions of the lines, in order to give you just what you want.

I can pull off a fair Spicolli/beach bum/hop-head speech pattern, as well as a generic southern drawl. I speak German, but do not have much of an accent.(Although my ex-wife and in-laws say my accent is fine. They are REAL Germans, born, raised and still living there.) I can do passable Russian and Irish accents.
I can also do fair Drill Sergeant. (comes from real life experience)

Preferred Role: Almost any role is possible. (Although out of respect for my wife, please no romance rolls of any kind) I have no problem with 'uncouth' language but dislike racial slurs.

Additional: While I am willing to take almost any role, a full character bio MUST be included and the script has to catch me. The better I like it the easier it is for me to get into character. So, yeah, I'm a little picky.
