"The American Dream" Countdown To Release Thread

That´s right, The American Dream is finaly ready for release. After 8 months of work it now seems to be finished, Post Production, Exporting, everything.

The release date is, for those who havn´t seen the latest trailer, August 28th. That is in 3 days. It will be released on TMU, and we (We=Ken) are going to try and release it on TMO as well.

The whole thing turned out to be 37 minutes long (!) and that will make some people scream in fear, but I hope you´ll take the time to watch this latest movie of mine after it´s released this thursday. And a huge thanks to Ken who help me a lot with the exporting of this movie.

Yeah, having seen this a couple of times, I'm pretty impressed with it - some great performances, solid script, good camera work, and very well paced.

Gonna set the bar pretty high for gangster movies.

Hmm, I guess it's only me but I seem to have problems loading the movie. It appears to be buffering for quite a while (for the last 30mins or so)

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the site updates? or even perhaps the length of the movie? Either way I didn't think latter should be a problem as I have a 20mb line.

Maybe I need to wait for the whole film to buffer? I'll wait and see.. :sad:

I was going to watch the film this afternoon, so I just looked at the page. Took about 10 minutes to buffer the whole thing, and my connection is running at 6Mb. Not too bad considering the film is nearly 40 minutes.

SG was having a problem last night with the same thing, though at the same time he was having problems, I was having none.

Some of the buffering problems this morning might have been due to some additional changes they were making to the script due to the issues that members have discovered since the upgrade yesterday.

Also, all the movies being converted since the upgrade have been encoded using .x264 high def video and AAC sound (still at 768K) - I wouldn't think that would be affecting load/buffer times, but I guess it's possible with a film of this length. Haven't gone into the file system to see what file sizes look like.

Anyway, keep me informed of stuff like this and if it's a trend, we can make some modifications to the encoding.

I kind of just let the movie load up while I was doing other stuff so there were no problems there for me.
