What is the Alfred Hitchcock Competition?
Alfred Hitchcock was a master of the suspense genre. Starting in the early 1920s and working until the mid-1970s, Hitchcock re-invented and re-imagined the suspense genre. His films have gone on to influence many over the years. In this competition, I am asking you to create a film in the style of Hitchcock. Now, this does not mean a remake of his films. It simply means that I want you to create a new, Hitchcockian film. Everyone may have a different view on his style, so it will be interesting to see what you all come up with.

Important Stuff:
1. Do not remake any of Hitchcock's films. This will automatically disqualify you.
2. Films can be any length, any genre, but they must include some suspense elements. Otherwise, it would not be an Alfred Hitchcock film.
3. You might fair better if you were to watch a few of his better known films (The 39 Steps, Rebecca, Spellbound, Rope, Strangers on a Train, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds, etc.) in order to get a feel for what his style is (to you).
4. Films must be submitted by September 15th, 2008. They can be uploaded to TMO or elsewhere, however, if they are elsewhere and you are in the top 3 winners, you will not receive one of the prizes. The winners will be announced shortly after the 15th.
5. The overall winner will receive a gift card to Best Buy (or a store of your choosing if Best Buy is not available where you live). The top 3 winners will receive special mod prizes.
6. Please upload your films here: http://www.tmunderground.com/channels/hitchcockcomp
6. Once you have uploaded your film, please post it in this thread. It will be easier to see who has entered.

I (and the judges) look forward to seeing all of your films. Best of luck.

Feel free to send me a PM or post in this thread if you have any questions, and again, best of luck to each and every entrant.

Right now you have a grand total of 20 days to get your entries in, so if you haven't started yet...good luck!

I've only now found this forum thread.

Three days left of the competition.

We'll see if I can make the count. It is a weekend, none the less -- no eight hour work days to tie me up.

Alright I've had several requests and the deadline is being extended to this Friday (the 19th) so be sure to get your films in then. The winners should be announced at the same time (first Sunday of October).
