What New Sub Forums Do You Wanna see?

What New Sub Forums do you think we should have?

I like the idea for a music forum. Both to discuss site where misic can be obtained but also for a place for musicians and composers to discuss things of a musical nature.

I was also wondering about bringing my Thread of Review Threads over here, or wether to start a new one? Comments?

I'd go for the music forum, would love to have info on good free places, always a bugger to find good music.

I think Modding/Modding Requests/Modding Tutorials would make a good combined subforum.

There's not as lot of music advice that's handy and useful - I would like that as a focus - hints, free stuff links and requests

I think music would probably be okay - if people like a mod showcase/request kind of forum, that's okay too.

I don't really like the idea of doing modding tutorials, though - there are some great sites like DCMF, Skinshack, and others that can help people learn how to mod, or give advice, and often they have tutorials.

I'd prefer people go there, where the people are REALLY SMART!

I would like to see a competition sub thread. Especailly since my Advertising Competition will be an annual thing now.

That sounds good.

Or maybe one way to do it could be to have two large sections for Machinima Production (as well as the other sections you already have) -

(Pre)Production:
script-writing, plotting, casting voice-actors, production software (from The Movies to iClone etc)

Post-Production:
music, sound effects, mods/overlays, external editing software etc.

Dunno if that'd be good or not but it might help to keep things tidy?

Yep, that would be nice! Especially because it would give me an opportunity to waffle unhindered and without end about recording equipment... until everyone pukes. :D

No really, links to free soundlibraries, free music etc, etc.... would be great!

Looks like a music subforum is gonna be a go - and I agree that it should be Sound & Music or Music & Sound - the more people get into outside (video and sound) editing and working with more complex soundscapes for their films, the more important both music and sound effects will become.

RogerS - We had some discussion about keeping things tidy pre-opening (thread may still be around here) - my only fear with keeping things too tidy is that a member who's interested in a variety of topics shouldn't have to check 10 different forums or drill down deeply into the forum to find something (Movies Movies Movies > Sound & Music > Sound > Animal Sounds > Mammals > Cows > Moos).

At this point, I'd like to keep many things as general and "macro" as possible - once we get a feel for forum useage, and what people are most comfortable, we can always make some new forums or subforums and move threads where they belong.

Im tending to think that a "coming soon" or "in-production" sub forum would be nice under the movies movies movies forum as the main forum is getting a bit cluttered. This would leave the main forum for such deep questions such as Dulci's WOW movies and contest threads and the like. Eh. Maybe, maybe not.
