Hey guys, I like to think of myself as a one-man crew, and if I can I try and do nearly every role. And well, I have some experiance with Garage Band, but I don't have an iMac at home.
So guys, what is the best free music software? And what software do you guys use anyway (I have a bit of money so I might use that)?

Do you mean a program where you can make your own music?

Oh ok, thanks Chris, that looks like exactly what I am looking for: Garage Band for Windows XP. And yeah, I mean a program where I can make my own music Geoff.

Chris is right, Mixcraft is definitely the best program to use if you want a easy, straight to point music software. I brought it for about £30-£40, was sure worth it! :)
