Hey guys, I recently had a peek at the first issue of TMO Magazine, and looking back it had a lot of potential. I am really annoyed at myself for now launching it properly.

For most of you who haven't heard of it, in 06' I had the idea of making a monthly TMO Magazine where we review films, give previews of films coming out soon, interviews, and much more, and release it as a 1 MB .pdf file. The good news? The first issue was a complete success, it looked very professional and was quite long, and those who got it absolutely loved it.

The bad news?

Well, nobody knew about it: The thread got around 10 views and the .pdf only got a few downloads. So I am going to try and relaunch it.

Included is an attachment with the .pdf. Tell me what you guys think of the 1st issue (sorry, VERY dated, as said before made in 06') and if you like it I might try and relaunch the magazine.

Enjoy screenshots from it (attached file).

Great design. I like it. This is actually a really good idea.

Well, a lot has changed since '06, including no more TMO. So a title change might be a good idea, or not.

Good luck with it.

Yeah, a change of title would obviously happen.

But what do you guys think of the magazine in general?

Lookin' good! As someone said (or is it sir Poshard) that the machinima community needs more than one mag.

No, we only need one magazine and it's MINE! MINE, DAMMIT!

(Walks off in a jealous huff at how much better and more professional SSproduction's magazine looks)

Well thanks RP. :)

Sorry for not responding sooner, been working on Blood & War Part II (coming out today actually :p). But yeah I'll make this if I get some editors who are interested.

Well, competition is good for the market, but what will you do to differentiate this from Moviewood-E?
It looks like a well designed title. I'm a big fan of PDF too - but I'm wondering if a web format might not make more sense for something that is distributed via the web?

Anyway, good luck with it. I hope it comes to fruition!

Well, the main differantiation from Moviewood is that it will be (as mentioned before) a .pdf file, and the second one is that it will have a very high level of polish (as seen in the screenshots from the first magazine). I will also try and get some exclusives to the magazine.

But for me to relaunch it I need editors. 2 or 3 other people: An "Upcoming Movies" writer, a "Reviews" writer, and an "Interview" writer.

I think this is a great Idea, I would not mind being a review writer. Let me know how many reviews you expect each month. Over all I think this would be a fine idea. Love the look of it.

Sounds like a great idea and i say you should definetly launch it. But just as a suggestion, maybe a modding/mod article in each issue too.

Yeah, that would be a good edition considering how much the community has changed it's focus since TMO.

And Skelch, so long as you meet deadlines of usually a week it'd be fine if you become the Reveiws Editor. :)

So when does the first issue come out?

No idea. Whenever I get enough editors and the idea gets enough momentum I'll set a first issue release date.
