IT BEGINS!
After a year of being inactive due to my back troubles and the sciatica, my weight has climbed to a total of 340lbs! Yikes! So, in the middle of last month, Melissa and I came across a diet used in the military and the hospitals that truly causes you to loose 10 pounds a week.
I'm skeptical, but a lot of people say it works, and so what the heck. What do I have to loose?
I thought I'd make a thread to share my progress to those who may want to loose a few pounds. If it works for me, it will surely work for you!
SO HOW DOES THE DIET WORK?
Basically, you have 3 days of diet, and four days of eating your normal foods (in moderation).
We decided to start on a Monday for easy tracking.
Therefore, for breakfast, the diet called for:
1/2 of a grapefruit
1 tbsp of Peanut Butter
1 slice of toast
With the option of unsweetened tea or coffee.
I had tea!
It wasn't all that bad. Five hours until lunch now. lol
So here is a picture of me to help me and you see the difference.

Good luck with your diet D.L and speaking from experience, try and work in some regular exercise in there too to speed up your metabolism and burn calories.

Just had my lunch which consisted of:
1/2 cup of tuna fish
1 piece of toast
A cup of unsweetened tea.
Starting to feel the withdrawals, but still doing great. It feels good to make changes.
Dinner at 9:30pm

Thanks!
Its 20 minutes to 7pm and boy...feeling the hunger. Its kinda surprising tho, do you know that the amount of calories that I have consumed for breakfast alone today is less than the nutritional serving size of Lay's Potato chips.
Here is shocker, a serving size is just 15 individual potato chips.
160 calories when you eat just 15 potato chips. Damn! Looking back, when I'm working, I can go through a whole bag.
Makes ya kinda sick.

Ok, Dinner (which I've had now hours ago) was very satisfying.
1 cup of green beans
1 cup of carrots
3 oz of meat
and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
So I survived a day. Tomorrow will be harder. I can feel it already. lol :)

When I was young, I had a very high metabolism. I ate whatever I wanted and never gained an ounce! Well.... the day came when I thought I would go on a weight gain diet! I gorged on ice cream and milkshakes. It was a struggle to go from 150 to 160 lbs. Finally, I got there. As the years passed I managed to achieve 175 lbs where I remaiined for most of my adult life. Then..... subtly, some more weight snuck in and I was surprised to find myself at 180!!! I reasoned my metabolism had slowed down as I had gotten older.
Despite that, I continued eating as I always had......
....
..
I went to the doctor for a check-up and renewal of my blood pressure meds. His scales sreamed, "Get off of me! You weight 204 lbs ya bastard!"
204 lbs??????
You got to be kidding!
Your scales are out of whack, doc!
So... I returned home and decided to do the diet a once LARGE friend of mine did.
The diet is to cut out all soft drinks and bread (mostly).
And so..... I have.
My weight is going down.
I am now 190.
My goal is 175 - although 180 is probably more realistic.
But... I'm going for 175.
No soft drinks.
No bread.
..................... no ice cream... no milkshakes.
It works for me, and for me, it is easy.
I'm into "easy".
If you try it... let me know how it turns out!
Way to go DL!!!! You can do it!!!!... and you will be sooo glad you did!

Nope still here! And 11 pounds lighter at that too!
I haven't given up. I'm on my second week and going on my third!
Basically, you diet Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (consuming little under 900 calories a day)
Then you eat regularly (in moderation) on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Whats fantastic about it that those first three days make the four days eating regularly a breeze. The reason is not because I eat as much as I want, but I actually eat almost the same about of food, just instead of tuna and slice a toast, its a ham sandwich.
And then I dont eat again until Dinner.
Its weird, it trains you to eat so much and at specific time, allowing your bodied to continuously to burn that extra pounds.
Like today I had three slices of pizza and I was stuffed. I usually can eat 6 or 7.
Its definitely working. I'm keeping at it until I loose like 90 pounds, the weight I was back when I was doing Journey of Man and before I was having back and sciatic trouble.
And oh...by the way, sciatic pain is beginning to rise to power in my right leg now. Fun.
I guess the doc was right about the other herniation...
