I'm going to need a few female voices for a movie I'm making.
(haven't decided if i'll need male actors yet)
Anyway, if you're interested, you can PM me or email me (since I'll need the voices by email anyway):rockon:

Welcome to TMU
I reckon you stand more chance of attracting interest if you could link any previous work you've done (if any).
Have a look at some of the other casting threads and see how they're laid out. You don't give anyone any idea of the age or type of character you're asking for, examples of the lines or even an audition line for people to check.
Some actors don't like to do profanity in their roles, so if there is any you should indicate that; are the parts for British accents? American? Australian? Outer Mongolian? Young? Old? Doesn't matter? Are the characters motherly types, sassy, angry, sad, etc, etc. Good VO actors want to know these things!

I messaged a few ppl. And thanks for the welcome. I really don't have any previous work.

Just a word of advice about messaging (which probably bears mentioning in general); some community members aren't big fans of being approached out of the blue by someone they don't know, which can sometimes put them off doing roles for people.
Some of the most well-known artists are constantly being asked to do voice work, and they have to say "no" to a lot of work they might otherwise want to do, simply due to the amount of requests they get for their dulcet tones :)
And female VO artists are the most desired of all, due to the relatively rarity of this most evasive species!
It is far better to pop up a comprehensive post, listing the roles, how they fit into the movie, an audition line and contact details and then wait for approaches, rather than run the risk of unintentionally offending someone by PMing them out of the blue, especially as a first-time director.

:oops:i see. however, the people i messaged did place their info and contact preference in a thread claiming their voice actress status, so in a way, they asked for it.:D

What might help you more than just saying you need a voice actress would be to give some detail on what you really need. Example:
=============AUDITION TEMPLATE================
Project information - Type your project info here. Be it a synopsis, an introduction, whatever you want.
Audition deadline - If you have a deadline for your project, put this here. Additional information regarding your casting methods should be here too.
Recording and Contact information - THIS IS IMPORTANT. Describe how you would like to receive your auditions and where the voice actors can send it to.
-Record in[example format: 44100hz 16-bit Stereo MP3]
-Save the lines as "charactername_yourname_linenumber.mp3" (ex: vaan_tamtu_01.mp3)
-Send your auditions to
Characters (You can divide this how ever you want. Male/Female/Additional characters is recommend. But use the following format for each character)
FEMALES
Name: Character Name
Age: Character age
Bio: Description of the character
Voice type: Describe the voice type. Is she a chain smoker? A hero? A monster? High pitched? Gravely? etc. etc.
Audition line 1: First audition line. (i.e - "You don't really mean that do you?")
Audition line 2: Second audition line. (i.e. - "Really George, you are becoming a royal pain!")
(add more if needed)
-Add more characters if necessary and categorize them in whether they are major or minor roles. Add as much information as you like (required accents, amount of lines if you know this, etc.): it really helps.
[I]Repeat the deadline + recording/contact info if you want to. If you have any final words to say, add them.
List of received auditions (you can list auditions you've received. You can edit your audition post for this.)
===============================
This is just an example that is used on Voice Actors Alliance (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/index.php)
It is always good to give details otherwise you will find it very difficult to get people to help you out.
