VOTC 11-15-08 Where are the Moding Tools

As TMO closes its doors, I am urging the community to once again ask, request, plead Lionhead for the applications used to create 'TheMovies'.

I know that we have many modders who have overcome this lack of support from Lionhead and done wonderous things... But wouldnt it be nice, and a nice gesture on the part of Lionhead to let us finally have what they used to create the game???

So many games have prospered, long after the game company went on to other things because of release of the gamebuilding applications given to that game's community.

I expect we will keep on making movies for quite a while.... But Im whistfully thinking, Wouldn't it be nice???


Anyway, this is one of the subjects we will hash out on VOTC this Saturday.... Be There!

It would be nice Monk but when have you heard a company giving something away for free.
I hope you can get them to do it i support you 100 percent but i don't think they will do it.

actually it happens all the time... many games have modding tools released with the game itself... even as far back a Doom and DukeNukem 3D had mod tools released... Give a listen to the show and get some ideas

I fear very much your cynicism is legitimate.... there are now several threads asking for the tools there, and neither Sam nor Woody have made an appearance to say anything at all... reminds me unfortunately of the crash thread, were they sat on the information until people started to get angry. Now (as they could have then) they could at least pop in and say "we're working on/thinking about it"... *sigh*

It's one of the reasons why I'm so dissapointed with them as a company - they stall all the time.
