This is not actually the promo thread, which will be coming in the next couple of days....
It's actually a heads up that this may be a Roger and designated co-host show, minus me. There's a big blob of clouds just east of Puerto Rico that everyone thinks is going to turn into a tropical depression, then Tropical Storm Fay, and then Hurricane Fay. And the current track send it right up along the east coast of Florida around Sunday afternoon-evening.
If that plays out, there's at least a 50% chance we'll activate the Emergency Operations Center on Saturday, and I'll be stuck on the Alpha shift, 7 am - 7pm. And if it does indeed play out that way, there's nearly a 100% chance that I'll be doing the same on Sunday.
Right now we're not anticipating any direct hit, and it's possible it will only be a tropical storm as it passes. All it means is about 24 hours of overtime money....and a weekend of Roger unbound for all of you.
Roger's already aware of this, and he's ready to pick up the slack and run things as usual. I'll know better tomorrow what the situation is both with the storm and with my weekend.
To be frank, my real regret is that I wouldn't be able to listen, and it's possible that Roger might just...go...insane.

The blob o'clouds that may someday be Hurricane Fay....
....is still just a blob o'clouds. Models are trending it away from Florida and over the Bahamas, but without a center, models aren't good at forecasting blob o'clouds tracks.
So as is so often the case, I'm standing by to stand by. I understand Roger has already commissioned artwork for a "The Roger Show" logo, and has begun editing my voice out of past shows, so I guess he's ready to take over this weekend.

I won't call in but I will write material about my life on the dark farm...if somebody needs something to talk about.

Final update before the weekend of TMOA entertainment begins....
Nobody seems to know exactly what the blob o'clouds is going to do - was on two conference calls with the National Hurricane Center, and the kept using terms like "low degree of confidence" about their forecasts.
Officially I'm home both Saturday and Sunday, though I could be called to login to my servers remotely to fix problems or come in to sit in my office waiting for something to happen.
I'm going to pretend that it's just like any other weekend - and if the call comes and I have to drop everything, I assume Roger will be ready to man the alternate TMOA command post and ensure continuity of programming in my absence.
So hey, promo thread Saturday night or Sunday...bet you can't guess who will be on the show.

If Roger is picking the guests it'll be someone who you had on only a few weeks ago, if not a week ago, or even earlier in the show.

We're still in the "cone of death":
http://www.tmoaradio.com/blob.gif
But whatever will happen will be sometime around Tuesday - so bring on the death and destruction - we got us a show tomorrow! (btw, I'm on the coast, due east of Lake Okeechobee, that big eye in the middle of the state)
I thought you meant you added some ice to your bong. :cool2:

Whodda thought natural destruction would look so purdy?
Can I suggest a short-break to Jamaica starting from monday: RedStripe, curried lamb, a deep dub soundtrack and ubernewbie's version of the "cone of death" till the whole thing blows over?

Ignore everything that goes before this....those are not the posts you were looking for....
So, Sunday again, and with an apocalyptic weather event rolling toward me, I guess we better make it a good one, since it might be my last! (I'm going for the sympathy audience here, so work with me, okay?)
TFD - aka The Flying Dude - You've heard his Schwartzenegger-like growl on The Voice 2008 - you've seen some of his films like the dark and amazing Hard Life (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/b65f4c0ccd295cc484e5/Hard-Life), and you've often wondered exactly how hard he has to flap his wings to stay airborne. Today, we're bringing him into the Virtual Studio and hopefully we'll get the answers to all of your questions, including what he was doing in Australia for 8 months and what, exactly, did he do with all of those koala bears....
drpiii - Okay, so I'll admit it - I was hoping the "d" stood for Dougal or Dingus or something exotically Scottish...but it doesn't. I've put my disappointment in a tiny leather pouch and buried it and we'll speak of it no more. But hey, though his name isn't colorful, I'm sure he is! I mean, watch How to Catch a Girl (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/764c8e3a691fa2b3a321/How-To-Catch-A-Girl), or his British Adventures in Space Series (here (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/ac1b4a0f97aa554886ec/BAIS---British-Adventures-In-Space), here (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/27dcd0980f86024e5208/BAIS-2---The-Wrath-of-Qwan), and here (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/eec73c49038385428ec4/BAIS-3---The-Sequel-Of-The-Sequel)), or even take a peek at Great Scot! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-amAj2viEA) over on Youtube - I think he'll fit right in with us...
Plus
Yes, the show is only 4 hours (since The Voice On-Air 2008 (http://community.lionhead.com/forums/thread/2953044.aspx)will be gobbling down our first hour with some REAL entertainment), but we'll still manage to cram in an hour of pointless BS from the increasingly unstable rjb2112, announcements, birthdays (perhaps accapella since my sound playing thing isn't working at the moment), a chatroom shoutout, Rednecks or Doc or Rednecks & Doc Massacring Cinema, and as always, a few surprises along the way (we're hoping that Rposhard soon manages to get his computer operational again, so he can continue to share his Reel Discoveries with us as well)
It all begins at 3 pm Eastern (one hour after The Voice on Air 2008 which starts at 2 pm Eastern), 8 pm in the UK, 9 pm in Europe, and the middle of the bloody night in Australia. To listen, click (I actually typed lick, which might also work) the TMOA Radio (http://www.tmoaradio.com) link you see on the left, and select 64K or 32K, depending on if you're "fast" or "slow".
You can also click (or lick) the TMOA Chatroom (http://www.tmoaradio.com/v3chat/index.php) link on the left which will whisk you into another dimension...a dimension of sight....a dimension of sound....a dimension of mind.... where you'll be greeted by our very own Rod Serling (though without the everpresent clouds of cigarette smoke), Ms. JudyAnn88, then seated, and allowed to chat quietly during today's performance. It's like dinner theater without the overdone roast beef and the cold boiled potatoes.
Seeya there!
