Friday the 13th Fan-fic Production Thread

Hello all, this will be my first ever movie in TM. I played around with it for a while and think I have enough knowledge of it to make the movie. And hell, even if I don't-it's a B-Horror film anyways...lol Anyway, on to the plot (it's your typical Jason movie set-up cause I didn't want to get too indepth on my first movie)...

Four friends, on a dare, decide to spend the night in the infamous Camp Blood. Do they have what it takes to stay alive?

I mean really, what more do I have to say about a movie of this nature? I'm a huge fan of the series, so it was pretty automatic as to what I would do first.

I'm already writing the script and hopefully it will be done within the week or early next week at latest. Let me know if you'd like to help out with this one. I know I'll need at least one prop of a camp sign and one costume that features a guy with an axe stuck in his head. I will also need at least four VAs for the main characters, two females and two males, and the ever so famous chh chh chh ha ha ha (anyone who's ever seen the movies will know what that is). Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM me for details on the characters.

Camp Blood? Never heard that before. However, the axe in the head bit ( I believe) can be found at DCMF by: BusStopWilly (I believe) in the "male head props" choice. As far as the camp sign, that will probably have to be by request somewhere. Welcome to TMU, ABfilms,and if ya need a bit of help with some vo's drop me a PM...

Camp Blood was referenced in a couple of the films...specifically the 1st and third as being a nick name given to it after Jason's mother killed people there (the killer in the first movie).

I will have to check out BusStopWilly. I think I looked there, but it's highly likely I overlooked some stuff as I was quickly perusing...

When I get the script done, you will be the first I contact for a part if you want since you were the first to reply :)

Well I have about half of the script done now and the characters seem pretty solid as far as personality and how they act goes.

Terra-There's no other way of saying it, she's a snotty bitch and is always complaining.

Chris-Boyfriend of Terra, more relaxed and easy going. The two seem like an unlikly match.

Dave-Military guy on a weekend pass. He seems insecure about his relationship with Claudia.

Claudia-Dave's girlfriend. She nice enough, but is easily stressed, especially when it comes to Terra.

Jason-Well he's Jason. No VO's required for this guy, unless you count the chh chh chh ha ha ha.

There is not going to be much in the way of character develoment here as this is a "slasher" film and there won't be time for it.

If you are interested in doing a VO, PM me and I'll send you the part of the script I have so far. I'm two deaths in now...lol

I finished the script today. I think for my first, it turned out fairly well. I probably won't start shooting until after Christmas, so as to give me time to cast the parts and wait for the VOs.

Anyone interested in doing a VO, PM me. I've already cast the part of Chris if the person I'm interested in agrees, but the other male and the two females are up for grabs.

I've written the movie based on the limitations I've seen in TM, but I think with the right camera angles, it'll still work out.

Keep in mind that this is my first movie, which is why I chose to do a movie like this. Like I said before, if it doesn't come out well, hey it's a slasher and it's almost expected...lol But I will do my best none-the-less. Thanks in advance.

Oh and if anyone wants to create a sign for me to use in the movie, that'd also be cool.

Well after going over my script with others, it seems I left out some crucial aspects of a good Jason flick, but the second draft is now done and I have a need for a newcast type VO. Doesn't really matter if it's male or female. It will be featured towards the end of the film and it isn't very long. Let me know if any of you are interested in that.

I still have yet to cast the two female parts as well, so any help with that would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you are interested in any of these parts. Thanks in advance.

BiggsTrek is doing the chh chh chh ha ha ha, lol. That noise is actully supposed to be generated in Jason and is short for Kill kill kill mom mom mom, meaning that his mom is telling him to kill.

The thing I liked most about 8 was the way Kane moved as Jason, he was also very Michael Myers-ish in the way he would lay in wait. I liked 10 a bit, especially some of the deaths.

So what do you guys think of the new F13 that's coming out? Personally I'm pissed yet again that Kane wasn't picked to play Jason. I guess I'll have to wait and see...but if it's anything as good as F vs J then I'll be seeing it in the theaters like 5 or 6 times...lol

Ile be watching, is it a remake? if it is then you would barely see Jason until the boat part...If it is a remake.

I need a few custom mods. I've looked around and haven't really found much that I've liked. 1st is the Camp Crystal Lake sign, second is an EXT in the same setting as the rural shack but the shack is more cabin like and looks as though it could hold more than just a small living room (I'm using the shabby hotel room and bathroom INT sets), 3rd would be a much bigger machette than the in game on and finally, a custom Jason mask and head as a latex head and a prop of just the mask. this past weekend I had the final battle sequnce all filmed and ready for VOs, when inspiration hit me. I had so much sucess on bringing my vision of the mask into TM, i though i may try and do a little with the custome. Couple hours with MED and photoshop, I messed it up...bad and was saving right into the game files rather than using a copy. Stupid me.

I did manage to save all my Starmaker actors/actresses and I even saved the .trl TM movie player files (I wanted to see what the sequnce would look like and see how much time it took up) and yes even the saved game in which i had the script for the scene.

Well when I finally got to re-installing, I tried to load my saved game...that's when the problem occured...the damn game crashed. I tried to open it several more times, getting more and more frantic. Same thing...TM no likey that file. What I had filmed turned out pretty well, but alas, I'll have to re shoot it all...luckily, as I said I have the movie player file for the scene and can work off that.

I don't know if the game doesn't like it cause I have no mods installed anymore or what, but if any of you guys have any suggestions on how to not make the game crash when I load, that'd be great. Otherwise, I'll just have to re-shoot. Oh well...It'll be alright I guess, just a little bump, but nothing too crazy.

Anyways, there's kind of an update on production...Hopefully I'll have the movie done by the end of the month so I can let a select few 'screen' it before I put it out.

Got the Jason costume last night by Mike...freaking awesome. We plan to release the costume and the mask on or after Feb 13th so that anyone can use it (probably on 8eyedbaby), but until then...it's a secret as far as what it looks like...I have all the VOs now except for Mippa's and it all sounds great. I've filmed most of the movie, just waiting on that last VO so i can normalize all the voices to be the same volume, so all in all it's turning out well and I can't wait to put it out.

Just a little update for everyone interested...I killed Sisch last night...lol her death scene turned out fairly well I think. Everything is still going strong, also got the final battle scene redone tonight and hopefully will be able to cut it tomorrow.
