Thought this would be a good sub-forum to point people at things they might miss (sometimes for good reason)....
My entry - Under the Boot: Awakening, Chapter One (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/fda463cb386442eac2b3/Awakening:-Chapter-One)
This was my first film from December '05 (not counting a trailer for this movie) and my only film not done with a script.
The whole process was pretty chaotic. Conceived the story, and started filming, keeping the plot and dialogue that I'd use in my head as I chose scenes. Finished filming, decided I would release a trailer (though not many were doing it at that point). Trailer was released December 8th, '05. Among the comments I remember best from the reviews of the trailer were "The final scene felt a little bit out of place, but since you don't have the backstory in a trailer, that's passable, I guess... but rest assured you'll lose a few stars if you don't explain in the actual movies all I've just seen. :-)" Got 91 reviews for the trailer.
Without a script, I had to write the lines that would be used in the trailer, with the idea of later incorporating them in the finished script that the actors would need. Recruited my actors from work (there were, I guess, voice actors for hire in the community, but I didn't know them), recorded the lines over a couple of days, and put it out on December 20th, 2008, less than a month after I'd bought The Movies.
Did a mass PM campaign to everyone who'd liked the trailer to promote it, spent every day in the forums writing factoids about the movie - and in the end, got 71 reviews. People did seem to like it, which spurred me on to Awakening, Chapter Two (http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/96096c5e0fcc8dd42ab6/Awakening,-Chapter-2).
(And please, ignore the dodgy Irish accent in the intro - I tried a variety of voices, and had other people try a variety of voices, but none of them were any good - well any better than this rubbish.)
